Released through World Star Hip Hop Chris Savage, a St. Louis native has teamed up with Los Angeles’ Krypto to release their new video “On The Stove”. The record produced by Beau Willie speaks about the life long difficulties to overcome a rough environment to a better life. Many artists today seem to glorify a fantasy lifestyle, however this particular record hits me as a record with a deeper message. Many people make it and then they receive love from others. When times were hard those people were no where to be found. This is a track that shows it took a lot to get to where they are at today.
Krypto is best known for his features and label affiliation with King Lil G, where as Chris Savage is an up and comer from the streets of St. Louis. The contrast between their two styles is apparent, but their level of respect for the hustle seems mutual. If you like street records, this one is a go.
