Things are really on the up and up for Group Home Ent’s R&B sensation Arabian. The beautiful and talented songstress recently delivered her highly anticipated debut EP called The Story. The Louisiana native made her big move to Atlanta, Georgia in August to prove to herself that she is capable of following in the footsteps of her R&B favorites. On Valentines day, Arabian had her first big concert in Atlanta where famous singer and IG star Summerella also hit the stage. Through this whirlwind of new found success, we were able to interview the rising talent. Check it out below!
RESPECT.: How did you get into singing?
Well, I was always singing since I was 6 years old but I just started taking it serious.
RESPECT.: What made you want to take it seriously?
I had to learn to not be scared and that took me awhile.
RESPECT.: Who did you look up to growing up?
I looked up to Beyoncé and a few others. I always wanted to be like them.
RESPECT.: Would you say the things you talk about in your music is similar to the Queen Bee’s?
Before my debut EP my music was based on being hurt and moving on but I consider my music based on everything. If you listen to my songs you will find something you can relate to.
RESPECT.: Do you do your own songwriting?
I don’t really write. I just go into the booth and freestyle it. I come up with a melody and everything goes from there.
RESPECT.: What is your relationship with NBA Youngboy?
That is someone I talk to and I look up to as an artist. We are from the same state and I admire how he came from nothing and made himself into something.
RESPECT.: What is the name of the project you recently dropped?
MY EP ‘The Story’ is my latest release. I already have another one in the works. My next project is going to be fun vibes and very different from the first.
RESPECT.: What do you want your listeners to take away from the project in the works?
When I was doing The Story I was in my feelings but this new project is about me moving on and following my dreams.
RESPECT.: What is some advice for rising singers out there?
I want people to be different, stay focused, and stay determined.
