In the midst of 21 Savage‘s good news, we almost missed similar fortune from another member of the Hip-Hop community. Back in 2017, New Orleans legend Mystikal was indicted for first degree rape after an alleged sexual assault that took place at a Shreveport casino the prior year…he was then held on a $3 million bond. Thanks to “an advance for a new recording deal, and funds raised by Mystikal’s family and friend,” the rapper is now free on bond until his trial in May.
You can read more about this at TMZ. Rap fans know this isn’t the only time Mystikal has legal troubles: he was released from a 6-year bid in 2010 for sexual battery, extortion and tax offenses, and did some additional time in 2012 for domestic abuse battery.
