Melxdie is a brand new artist to catch our attention recently. Her debut record “Voulez Vous” is a unique blend of instruments and straight up R&B-Pop sensibilities. At first listen, it’s like any other radio smash and then as the song builds up, there is an island vibe and undernotes of latin music. As much as a lot of these different genres of music have similar BPMs, it takes a talented individual to bring those sounds together and still keep it laissez-faire.
Keep a look out for Melxdie, as she surfaced on the internet with her Pressa-assisted “Voulez Vous” debut earlier this year. Since this song has been causing some noise, we got in touch with the artist herself to tell us a few things about her the creative process behind the song:
“Well, I was in the studio with my producer Marcus Kane and he showed me a beat he’d been working on. We always clicked on the concept of keeping the music authentic by incorporating my Latin roots and using real musical instruments in our tracks.”
Melxdie is Peruvian and Libyan.
“He bumped it in the studio and asked me to hum a melody and by the time the night was over, we had a full song ready to go… the process of connecting with Pressa to jump on the track was another experience that I’m truly grateful for thanks to my management, Peter and Pressa’s team.”
