You have to be willing to adapt if the seasons change. If you are never settled in your goals that you establish, you must be willing to take a risk. The higher the risk equals a bigger reward.
Less than 2 years this Trinidadian American and Brooklyn native went from working a 9-5 Accounting Executive job she hated, to planning the most beautiful events for your favorite celebrities.
Khadidra Muhammad launched her company Priceless Event Planning (PEP) in January 2017 after doing it as a side hustle for four years prior. She was motivated to take the leap to doing it full time and waling away from her corporate job after receiving amazing feedback from her clients. It wasn’t long before she would be recommended to do celebrity events.
In such a short time, she’s planned Angela Simmons’ birthday party as well as her son’s party. She’s also planned amazing events for Tamar Braxton and Dream Doll just to name a few. In addition to planning events, she offers the “Pick PEP’s Brain Workshop,” which is a platform that she’s created where she shares her own personal journey and mistakes, inspires other planners and teaches balloon and floral design.
Khadidra was shot by a stray bullet in her knee this past July and still executed an event from the Emergency room.
As a black woman in the event panning industry, Muhammed is definitely open to discussing the challenges she faces from vendors and venues as a minority. As an event planner it’s hard to focus on your own events. She’s currently engaged but hasn’t even had the opportunity to start on her own wedding.
As a child, her family would let her plan events and she would take it very seriously. She went from begging them to plan events to them begging her to do them. She would do family functions, birthday parties, engagement and retreat parties.
Khadidra teaches classes to other event planners to take their business to new heights and expansion.
