On January 7th like many others, I received a J. Cole Twitter notification and opened it immediately. When I viewed the post it was a mysterious flyer with the word revenge sitting boldly before my eyes. At first glance I thought this was a calling for a listening party but I was wrong. It was flyer inviting Cole to a recording session. I then knew a Dreamville tape is on the horizon. Today makes day three of the gathering and the Dreamville team is being very unbarred and giving music fans lots of valuable behind the scenes moments via social media. Here is everything we know about the new project so far.
What exactly is happening?
Cole is calling Dreamville artists, producers, and some special guests to record Revenge Of The Dreamers III. The compilation tape began in 2014 and it has been three years since ROTD II dropped. It is apparent Dreamville has big plans of taking over the year 2019 as we notice more music being dropped from its artists and the festival taking place in September. So far the compilation tapes have been strong bodies of work that showcases the raw and unique talent Dreamville’s team comprises.
Where is this happening?
According to the flyer spreading on the internet, the ROTD III studio sessions are taking place in Atlanta, Georgia from January 6th to the 16th.
Who is involved?
Well this is where things get interesting. Almost everyone that is freshly making waves in the hip-hop biz is involved. From looking at the Dreamville IG page I formed a list of rappers and producers included. You’re welcome!
