Hip-Hop is a strange game. While it takes a lot of passion and hard work to make it in this industry, many of our favorite rappers were doing something completely different before rap. For Detroit native, ZayZayy, it was playing collegiate basketball at Howard Community College. Despite the obvious hoop dreams, Zay turned his experiences on the hardwood and the streets into his brilliant debut album, A Story Yet Told.
Clocking in at 9-tracks, A Story Yet Told is a tale of redemption, heartbreak, perseverance, love and many more emotions. It’s also the journey of a man who’s been at rock bottom, only to pull himself up with hard work and sheer will. With wavy production provided by cats like Brenontheboards and Namzbeatz, Zay absolutely floats over this album, creating standouts like, “Mercy” and “Lottery,” which are the strongest candidates to break out to the masses.
With his album finally out, the sky is the limit for Zayzayy. Press play on his album below and get hip to the rising rapper.
