Since the the very beginning, both Northern & Southern California have been staples in Hip-Hop. Whether it’s legends like Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and more hailing from So Cal, or it’s cultural icons like E-40 & Mac Dre from The Bay, both sides of California are lit. So it’s no surprise, that rising Compton rapper RedAngel would tap in with one of the Bay’s hottest acts in Nef The Pharaoh for their dope new single, “Going To Trial.”
Serving as Red’s second inclusion on our site — as well as his producer, Steelz — the Chicago transplant is starting to build a buzz throughout industry circles. On this track, which has received praise from XXL & HotNewHipHop, we see Nef handling the melodic load while Red takes this time to establish his knack for potent punchlines and elusive cadences.
