Austin ,Texas based performer and recording artist Marrshun has released a conscious new video and performance piece titled “Prayer Hands”. In this visual, Marrshun takes us into another dimension in which The Brady Bunch is a middle class black family, “The Blacks” .
This dark, twisted, trippy trap visual was directed by Mr. B, and shows Marrshun’s raw talent and creativity. You will see the talented creative playing eight different characters, depicting the African American structural stereotypes commonly found within the black family.
This visual is so powerful because of Marrshun’s signature use of white face, which shows his level of consciousness and knowledge. He is keen on exposing the racial connotation associated with the brand of the black family in the media and on television.
Through his deep lyrical content, originality and strong message, Marrshun has opened the door to the exploration of black culture appropriation in America.
