Last weekend the Ultimate Gaming League (aka UGL, the organization started by Oaklanders Brad Flewellen and Chuck Johnson to foster diversity in the technology and gaming space) brought Mistah F.A.B. and other figures from the Bay Area music, sports and gaming worlds together for a launch event kicking off their 3rd annual E-Sports tournament season. The party inside downtown’s Halftime Sports Bar featured a series of mini-tournaments with the “UGL Undertaker” title finally being claimed by pro-gamer Mark “Bam” Samuels. Town icon Mistah F.A.B. and HBK rapper IAMSU joined the action, and DJ Flygerian Jeff had the bar lit all night long as spectators danced, drank, and cheered on the competitors. Sports radio personality Daryle “The Guru” Johnson from 95.7 The Game hosted the festivities and got the town juiced for the UGL main event coming up on October 13th. That event promises a $2500 cash prize to the best Madden player in the Bay Area! Info on the event can be found here.
