Last week, Manhattan Wreck gained immense recognition for their first venture into the New York Art Scene through Program #1, which featured idiosyncratic work from multidisciplinary artist KidSuper and noted documentary photographer Sickamore as well as special celebrity performances by Sheck Wes and Lola Zouai.
Appearances were made by Trinidad James, Solange, Heron Preston, Clermont Twins, Yesjulz, Leaf, Kirk Knight, Ryan Esquibel, Adriana Sahar, and Adesuwa P. Guests enjoyed Tiger Beer and Jagermeister cocktails throughout the evening with tunes provided by Powers Pleasant. Notably one of the hottest events of Fashion Week Program #1 amassed over 1 million views on Instagram stories broadcasted via Hypebeast and Revolt all while sustaining a constant line of 200 to 400 people throughout the entirety of the evening.
The collection of works by KidSuper and Sickamore were perused and purchased by art buyers and aficionados aside. The popularity of the art x music showcase resulted in the extension of the exhibition. Sickamore’s enigmatic Polaroids photographs and Kid Super’s expressive paintings are now open for public viewing at 310 Canal Street until the end of this month. Additionally, a limited run of Manhattan Wreck merchandise can be purchased at manhattanwreck.com.
Thanks to collaborators Huf, ESP Camera and Tiger Beer, Program #1 amassed massive success and continues to attract attention for Manhattan Wreck Program #2 which will be taking place this upcoming winter. Until then, you can relive the harmonious cultural moment through various photographs from the event.
