For a while now, San Diego has been producing some of the best Hip-Hop this side of the Mississippi, bar none. Cats like Rossi Rock, Rob $tone, Malik Burgers & others have carved a place in the genre for Daygo & the city has definitely responded. Looking to join the ranks of the elite is Oceanside native Dialect, who checks in with his new project, Baby Wolfman.
Coming in at 7 tracks, Baby Wolfman is a solid introduction to Dialect for those that may be unfamiliar. Right from the jump on the intro, “Fake Famous” Dialect establishes his lyrical prowess and sets the tone for the whole project with his menacing, nasally voice that simultaneously scares you & makes you nod your head in enjoyment.
But the real draw here is just how well he blends his vocals with the production. I know that sounds like a shallow compliment, but it’s something that goes overlooked time and time again. There are multiple times throughout this project where his voice, lyrics and overall presence, masterfully fade into the accompanying production, creating more of an experience than a casual listen for the consumer.
Overall, Baby Wolfman is one of the better releases of the week & Dialect is an artist to watch. Go get familiar with both below.
