Coming from Hartford, Connecticut it could be easy to have the mentality that your city is just too small to make it out of. I mean sure, you have New York City not far away, but in reality that’s not home, Hartford is. Despite the capacity for such complaints to be made, Hartford native 6MANCAM has let none of that stop him. After garnering a bit of buzz due to a few noteworthy performances opening up for Thouxanban Fauni in Dallas, Texas, the newcomer checks into the pages for the first time with his EP, Dead Face N’ Friends.
Sitting at seven-tracks long, Dead Face N’ Friends is a solid introduction into who CAM is as an artist. At times, the project gets stagnant, relying on production more than anything else, but despite this, CAM’s potential as an artist is a constant theme. On, “Simon Says,” you see him venture out a bit more, playing with his cadences, while on, “GANGLAND,” you can hear him where his most comfy, ripping 808’s at the speed of light with a hairline trigger flow that can go rogue at any minute. Other standouts include the SHEFF assisted intro, “4 Life,” and the uberly energetic, “DON’T CARE.”
Check out Dead Face N’ Friends below and be sure to keep an eye on 6MANCAM and the whole Money’s In Art collective.
