Since the release of her single “I’m Free” back in 2013 she’s been gaining promising exposure. Beau’Joli has been consistently dropping music and earning thousands of plays thanks to her ability of making sweet meaningful and soulful music. She recently dropped the music video for her latest single “Timeless 2 Me” which gave us a great glimpse of what is on the way. Check out the conversation with her below!
RESPECT.: You’re an artist, author, and overall creator. First off, when did you publish the book?
Yes, I published my first book last year! It is called Growth, Balance, Shine. My music reflects my book in so many ways. In the book, I’m able to explain in words what I want to say in my music.
RESPECT.: Is there a craft you enjoy doing more?
I definitely enjoy being an artist and writer. Being a writer is an extra release but being an artist is my heart and soul.
RESPECT.: Where are you based?
I’m from North Carolina, and now I am living in Atlanta.
RESPECT.: I’m sure it was hectic when you first arrived to ATL.
It was a little hectic because I was the new girl in the city. I didn’t have a taste of what people can really do. As far as being fake. Living here really built my sense of tuition. Out here in Atlanta there are so many people that claim they’re someone that they’re not.
RESPECT.: During all that you were very focused on music.
Yes, I was doing a lot of open mics in Atlanta. It helped me build my performance skills and social skills with other people.
RESPECT.: How did “Timeless 2 Me” come about?
I was just getting out of a relationship. They start of committed then they change. You really don’t know who you are messing with. I called it Timeless because my mom and dad been together since high school and I want something like that. Some people look at you and just want to blow your mind and it’s all ego. But I don’t need that
RESPECT.: Who are the characters in the video?
In the music video, I had actors portray my mom and my dad. That’s why you see the two characters interacting in school because that’s how my parents met. They got together, married, then my dad went to trucking school. The 3 girls are me and my sisters when we had to go with my dad. The pictures in my room resemble timelessness and family.
RESPECT.: Will we hear more of this story?
I might! All my music is surrounded by healing and love.
RESPECT.: Do you have a project on the way?
Yes, it is called Mind going crazy I might release between next Monday and the 1st of September. It is about being in love with someone that has you going crazy but in a good way.
