If you were wondering about whether or not Eminem was listening to all of the Revival slander at the top of the year, well..not only did he hear the complaints, he’s also been keeping a list of his detractors. That list has essentially culminated into his new, from-out-of-nowhere album Kamikaze, the album that I’d been personally waiting for since MMLP2.
The album sees 13 tracks — including an apparent contribution to the forthcoming film Venom — with additional appearances from Royce Da 5’9″, Joyner Lucas and Jessie Reyez. Em’s handling the boards as well, alongside Mike Will Made-It, Tay Keith (!), S1, Illadaproducer and more. The album artwork is an obvious tribute to the Beastie Boys classic, License To Ill.
Obviously, the biggest draw to this project is Eminem’s methodical disses to everyone from Machine Gun Kelly to whomever your favorite “mumble” rapper is this year. First listeners will definitely enjoy breaking down the lyrics in that regard.
Anyways, press play on Kamizake below.
