New artists pop up everyday, b *Ace Boogie voice* but not often from Grand Prairie, Texas. With a small population of under 200,000, you would think that the city probably had zero national celebrities….. and you’d be dead wrong. Despite your preconceived stereotypical notions, Grand Prairie is the proud birthplace of The Weeknd’s kryptonite, aka Selena Gomez. I’ll give you a second to be disgusted with yourself for assuming… Okay, we’re back, but that’s not all. The city produced ANOTHER promising talent and she goes by the name of DaShawn Shaunta, who checks in with her new single, “Femme Fatale.”
Sticking to a sensual tone that highlights both her silky efficiency as well as her infectious southern cadence, Shaunta lets off on the track about her inability to find a man worthy of her time. She also attempts to teach both women and men something in the process, creating a lane that’s honestly missing in Hip-Hop at the moment. Check out, “Femme Fatale” below and be sure to get hip to DaShawn Shaunta.
