Plenty of dope music for the Hip-Hop fans this week. Case in point:
Jay Rock – Redemption
Black Hippy continues to deliver future classics. Today, Jay Rock becomes the next one up with his new album Redemption, his first since 2015’s 90059 (one of the best albums that dropped this decade). This go round, he delivers 13 tracks with additional appearances from TDE mainstays Kendrick Lamar and SZA alongside Future (“King’s Dead”), Jeremih and J. Cole. Check it out below, along with the first episode of Rock’s Road To Redemption series…do not sleep on this one.
Nas – Nasir
Escobar season has returned. Hip-Hop legend Nas is back with his twelfth (!) studio album Nasir, the latest in a line of Kanye West-produced albums. As with ye, Daytona and Kids See Ghosts, Nasir comes in at 7 tracks, with appearances from Kanye, 070 Shake and The-Dream. You can enjoy the live stream for now; we’ll add the official drops once they (finally) arrive.
Uncle Drew (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)
Next week, the Kyrie Irving-led long-form advertisement film Uncle Drew hits theaters. First, fans get to hear the official soundtrack, which sees plenty of musical appearances — A$AP Rocky, Kid Ink, Dipset, Logic, 2 Chainz, H.E.R., Wiz Khalifa, French Montana and loads more provide assistance.
Jacquees – 4275
After some solid mixtape releases (including This Time I’m Serious and F*** A Friend Zone with DeJ Loaf), Cash Money’s R&B star Jacquees delivers his debut album 4275. The project is led by the singles “B.E.D.” and “Inside” (featuring Trey Songz) and sees additional appearances from Loaf, Chris Brown, Jagged Edge, Young Thug and more. This one looks to be a dope project for sure.
Rico Nasty – Nasty
Following her recent signing to Atlantic Records, Maryland’s Rico Nasty delivers a new project titled Nasty, which sees a couple of appearances from Blocboy JB and Lil Gnar. Very excited to see what she comes up with next.
