Artist KGoddess is using her fierce competitiveness and determination in pursuant to her goals of making a transformative impact in Rap music. The Brooklyn native recently released her singles “I’ll Be Damned” and “Brownsville” off her second mixtape. She is consciously dropping thought-provoking music in the midst of a historic evolution in Hip-Hop; a period that KGoddess will be credited for pushing forward. The evolution coincides with her mission to prove that similar to her male counterparts, there can be more than two mainstream female rappers at a time. KGoddess wants to achieve mainstream success without comprising who she is; a former basketball player turned strip club bartender who has proudly gotten her body done. More importantly, she wants the music industry to know being sexy and serious are not mutually exclusive. In fact, KG’s latest music video “Brownsville” is as serious as her streets.
“Brownsville” is an homage to the Brooklyn streets in which the artist was born and raised, and in her youngest years, it was under the watchful eye of her grandmother. The song highlights the neighborhood family of gangsters that played an integral role in shaping her into a tough-skinned unapologetic pin-up vixen with a vicious rap flow.
The song is classified as an interlude as it’s her second single, a follow-up to “I’ll be Damned” an underground-favored single. After Dropping her Mixtape “Diary of A Goddess” in the span of a couple of months, KGoddess has quickly elevated her voice as a means of representing her culture and real-life experiences. She is scheduled to do press run set to kick off in mid-June. Before then, she’ll be performing on June 22nd at Rainbow Fashion Week in New York. As recent as this past weekend, KGoddess gave a memorable performance at Hot 97’s Summer Jam.
K Goddess is adamant about getting her hands on the mic as often as possible and drop into as many live performances and festival appearances. After recent articles were published on Vh1 and E-News about her connection to Swift on Demand, her presence has been sought after. In a short period, K Goddess has worked with major artists, gained 100k followers on Instagram, and performed at Summer Jam. Although her focus is hardcore Hip-Hop, with a growing number of eyes on the exploration of crossover genres she makes the hint at pop flavor to come.
