Atlanta-based recording artist Akbar V details the ups and downs of her relationship with her latest visual, “Thug Me Like That.” Teaming up with R&B songstress, K. Michelle, Akbar V continues to prove she is one of the hardest working MCs to emerge from the South. Maintaining her unapologetic attitude, Akbar V poetically addresses her struggles, even though she is tempted to go “Lisa Left Eye” when on Facetime with K. Michelle.
“Thug me like that is about a boy who I fell in love with when I first met him then I started finding out his true colors…K. Michelle came and gave the best vocals that anybody could wish for and I was so grateful for it. What people don’t know is that she still did an appearance in the video while she was going through health issues. Overall, she’s just a real woman. And solid,” Akbar V shares with us.
K. Michelle’s mesmerizing vocals truly compliment Akbar V’s poignant lyrics about infidelity and trust. We can definitely see there’s chemistry between these ladies, so hopefully they will continue to work in the future.
