As a D.C. native, it’s always dope to see the continued progress of our Hip-Hop culture. Following the likes of Wale, Logic and Shy Glizzy (and more recent acts like Chaz French, Rico Nasty and WillThaRapper), Largo rising star Q Da Fool has locked in on a new partnership with Jay-Z‘s Roc Nation imprint. Formerly a member of Pakk Boyz already raised his profile in the D.C. area with a slew of viral singles, mixtapes and features.
This week, Q keeps that momentum going with the new track (and visual for) “Not Playin,” which was directed by FoolWithTheCamera. This is said to be appearing on the rapper’s forthcoming EP 100 Keys, which is entirely produced by Zaytoven — the super-producer spoke on the collaboration with Billboard:
“‘Not Playin’ is one of my favorite tracks that Q and I had recorded, because it has that real authentic trap bounce. I decided to work with Q when I first saw one of his videos… I knew then he was a star, so I sent Q’s manager some beats and when he sent the songs back, it was a confirmation to me that he was definitely a superstar.”
Vibe to “Not Playin” above.
