…and one of them is definitely troll-worthy.
First, the troll track: following a promise of a lyrical response to Ebro Darden, Kanye released a track titled “Lift Yourself” via his website. While the production shows he hasn’t lost his touch behind the boards, it’s the “verse” at the end that had everyone scratching their heads. Here’s an excerpt:
Poopy-di scoop
Scoop-diddy-whoop
Whoop-di-scoop-di-poop
Poop-di-scoopty
Scoopty-whoop…
So…yeah. Then: at some point, T.I. revealed that he had visited Kanye and tried to talk some sense into him. What he didn’t reveal was that they rapped their conflicting issues on wax — which became the track “Ye Vs. The People,” which is a lot better than the first song and sees both artists being very open about their disagreements. Whether or not this is genuine is worthy of debate: nonetheless, it’s a big message to the people in regards to what’s going on with ‘Ye musically.
