UPDATE: There’s additional speculation that — as the last track’s title insinuates — there’s more music to follow this project. I am so tuned in to this right now.
This album is in no way intended to glorify addiction.
Two years after the release of the critically-acclaimed For Your Eyez Only (and a day after his surprise show), Fayetteville’s own J. Cole has announced his new album, titled KOD (Kids On Drugs, King Overdosed and Killing Our Demons, according to other sources). Judging from the artwork, the forthcoming 12-track project looks to take aim at the current drug-addicted subculture we see in Hip-Hop. There’s also a mysterious appearance from someone named kiLL edward (could be Cole himself, which would make this another featureless project).
Check out the tracklisting below. KOD drops this Friday (April 20th).
