Rapper Pounds returns to RESPECT. today with a short, but vast, new project alongside illustrious west coast producer Oh No. Combining gritty rhymes over stirring instrumentals is Pounds’ forte, and this collaboration is nothing less than notable.
POUNDS makes it very clear that he’s cut from a similar anti-hero, mafioso-rap cloth that led to so many classic records over the years. Armed with his unique voice and meditative delivery, he draws inspiration from the artists he listened to growing up (Mobb Deep, Sean Price, Nas) and pens gritty street tales that are all his own.
Be sure to give it a spin at the top of the post, and be on the look out for limited ‘Borgata‘ vinyl coming soon!
