A new hip-hop story is told every day. Donnie B the Atlanta-based promoter, the rapper, and mogul shares something different. His childhood life in Detroit, Mich. wasn’t the best. Having to grow up fast, he made a decision to survive by any means. He grew up in poverty without a mother and father. His mother suffered from a drug addiction and she lost her life when Donnie B was only 5 years old. Also, growing up without a father he had to learn to adapt and overcome.
Donnie B spent most of his time in the streets hustling to make a better way for himself. He was hanging around the wrong crowd and going nowhere fast. He had an entrepreneur spirit from an early age and knew that the streets weren’t going to keep him forever. Donnie B moved to South Carolina at the age of 15. He experienced a culture shock in the south due to the pace being much slower than what he was used to in Detroit. Adjusting was difficult for Donnie B because he felt like no one could understand him or could relate to his life in South Carolina.
Donnie B depicts his story in a new visual for “Ain’t Playin” from his debut project Rare Breed Vol.1.

Learning to maneuver through these obstacles, he created multiple business ventures. Donnie B wanted to rise above his circumstances so he changed his act and got focused. Using his Detroit upbringing as motivation, Donnie B wanted to be the best version of himself.
A motto that Donnie lives by is “find a way or make a way”. He’s overcame so much tribulation in his life and he is still standing, that is his testimony and he wants to share it with the world.
Donnie B is currently working with his team on the his next game plan for his rap career. You can expect more music coming soon as he is gearing up to release his new single “Why Not” from his forthcoming EP.
