Oakland, California’s own G-Eazy is an artist who rose to stardom in what seemed like no time. His first major-label album, These Things Happen, peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200. A year later, he released his second album, When It’s Dark Out, featuring “Me, Myself & I,” which landed in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. Since, the rapper and record producer has furthered his career by creating smashes like “No Limit” which feature Cardi B and A$AP Rocky. The Beautiful & Damned, G’s latest project, released December 15, 2017.
The Beautiful & Damned may be G-Eazy’s most important album to date. Easily, he does a good job of grabbing the attention of listeners with his transparency and never being one to hold back. According to G-Eazy, The Beautiful & Damned is a 20 track concept album that is split into two phases: The big time dreams that he had as a kid, and the cons that come with actually achieving those dreams in the music industry. Eazy discusses his battles with fame, drug abuse, and heartbreak on his verses, giving fans a chance to understand what’s really going on in his life. G is an expert at putting his feelings into words when he raps, and I think that’s one of the major reasons this album is a must-listen for Hip Hop fans.
The successes of Eazy and The Beautiful & Damned album has found himself on the road touring. Accompanied by emerging artist Trippie Redd, The Beautiful & Damned tour is making its way across the nation. RESPECT will be in attendance to bring you a full review.
