Hip-Hop is the most competitive genre, by far. Nowhere more in music do you see top artists pit against each other, public wars between labels and of course, “Beef” than you do in Hip-Hop. To be quite frank, it’s part of our DNA. Despite that, tell me something better in the world than multiple artists coming together to merge their talents and create a masterpiece, especially in Rap. Collaborations are the backbone of Hip-Hop and in 2017 we saw that taken to new heights with highly promoted projects between stars like 21 Savage and Offset, Quavo and Travis Scott and many, many more. Looking to join in on the fun that is making dope music with your friends, Kentucky natives Vegg and 2X join forces for their new EP, Veggie2time Vs. The World.
Coming in at a short, but sweet six tracks, Veggie2time is an enjoyable exporations of the raw talents of both artists. While tracks like, “Bounce Out” and “Can’t Hang With Me” showcase both 2X and Vegg’s solo prowess, respectively, it’s the duo-cuts like, “Gotta Get it” and “Dirty” that leave the listener pondering the possibilities of more songs from these two. With a stout knack for melodies and an ability to slice through the solid production lyrically, 2X and Vegg set the table for a future of more collaborations.
Check out the project, here and be sure to keep an eye on both Vegg and 2X.
