When it comes to making it in Hip-Hop, you’ve got to have a hustler’s spirit. I’m not talking about selling drugs or doing things out of your character, but that entrepreneurialspirit that huster’s have become so famous for, has to be apart of your DNA. Whether it’s pushing yourself as a brand, selling CDs, promoting shows or whatever–you have to be a Go Getter, or as Las Vegas Native, D. McKenzie puts it in his new video, a “Go Ghettah.”

Set to the backdrop of the Las Vegas desert and directed by Edwin Laptin, “Go Ghettah” is an aggressive, and enjoyable track that’s motives are clearly stated in the chorus. When speaking on the direcetion of the video, McKenzie was honest about it’s origins, “To be honest, I had to settle with the camera guy’s vision because he wasn’t so comfortable with me being hands on with the art direction. So I had to take what I can get with this one.”

With his video being released on his birthday — & also the day his life-long favorite football team, The Eagles won the SuperBowl — the Las Vegas rep also spoke on the future, stating, “I have another video dropping for the song, ‘So Dedicated’ & we’re also wrapping up, ‘The Night is Young Pt. III’ here at ETE,” he continued, “Both should be releasing by the end of February.”
