You know, I’ve never quite understood the animosity between the Hip-Hop world and it’s direct predecessor, Electronic Dance Music. Yes, I said it. Just like Hip-Hop derives from Blues, Rock & Roll and other genres, EDM is 150% a descendant of Hip-Hop. Although fans of both genres seemed to be closed minded to the other, the artists have seemed to embrace It, with major forces from both sides starting to collaborate with one another. Looking to embrace the impending wave, Las Vegas producer Markus Parker enlists partner Gamazon for the infectious, yet mind-boggling track, “Maximus.”
Set to the tone of beautiful vocals and a consistent melody that almost hypnotizes your mind, Parker and Gamazon take you on a mental journey through a creative landscape that is on the brink of taking over. Although there’s little to no rap on here, you can distinctly hear how nuts a grime lyricist would sound on one of their productions.
“The Track came from me and my partner both being good at two different genres, Hip-Hop and EDM,” the Vegas resident said to RESPECT., “we thought bringing those two unique sounds together would sound great.”
Check out the track below and be sure to keep an eye on the duo, who are set to release more sounds in the near future.
