It’s finally here. Following some interesting ad promo comes a new single from Eminem titled “Walk On Water,” which features Beyoncé (expect this to be an instant number one record as a result). The piano-driven, percussion-less ballad — produced by Rick Rubin, no less — sees Em in self-reflection, seemingly vulnerable to pressure and public opinion over his music:
It’s the curse of the standard
That the first of the Mathers disk set
Always in search of the verse that I haven’t spit yet
Will this step just be another misstep
To tarnish whatever the legacy, love or respect I’ve garnered?
The rhyme has to be perfect, the delivery flawless
And it always feels like I’m hitting the mark
‘TIl I go sit in the car, listen, and pick it apart
Like, “this s*** is garbage”
Check it out above, available via all streaming platforms. We are definitely a long way from Slim Shady (not a diss).
