Even though the well-received big label debut True Colors is still fairly recent, that’s not stopping D.C.’s own Chaz French from delivering new heat to keep the fans warm this Winter. This week, he delivers a 6-track “playlist” titled Kill Vol. 1: A DMV Original, which sees him bringing some of his DMV peers along for the ride — Fat Trel, Big Flock and Q Da Fool join Innanet James, Lul Big Brother and more.
He explained the release via Mass Appeal:
I’ve had an incredible 2017 with my debut album out and all—but so has the DMV when it comes to hip hop… I decided it was a good time to put together a short playlist of records, kind of like a soundtrack that pays homage to daily DMV life with some of my friends also making a lot of noise here. I wanted to show the unity amongst the artist community, shine light on new talent, and pay homage to our culture.
