This past Friday, Canadian emcee Belly and producer Boi-1da delivered their new release Mumble Rap, which was preceded by tracks like “Glorious,” “P.O.P.” and “Lullaby.” Now, the Roc Nation artist liberates a new visual in promotion of the project, this time for the title track.
The clip was directed by Karena Evans and sees the XO affiliate and squad mobbing through the streets; instead of created mass chaos, we see some hard dance moves (even Belly gives a shimmy and two-step for the camera…with that Boi-1da production, it’s impossible not to). According to the artist himself (source), “this video was inspired by the Timbaland/Missy Elliott era of videos…I wanted to give people a visual that was reminiscent of that.”
