Let me preface this post by saying how amazing it is to see all the new Hip-Hop generation joining their older peers in artistic protest of the nonsense happening in America right now. With that said, 21 Savage drops off a new visual for “Nothin New,” the latest to be taken from his successful release Issa Album. The clip starts off with footage of Colin Kaepernick, Lebron James and President Barack Obama making past statements about police brutality and social injustice (and Trump) before segueing into an already powerful song about the Black man’s position in the proverbial system. 21 can be seen at a funeral in the rain; a young girl’s own life also unfolds, connecting the overall story while bringing it to a tragic end.
