As of recently, a few well known artists from the city of Chicago have taken the liberty of dropping remixes to Meek Mill‘s “We Ball” track from his latest album, Wins & Losses — two of those artists including Lil Durk & G Herbo. Today, Eastside Chicago’s Y.K. Supe goes a different route and takes a stab at another standout cut from Meek’s album, “Left Hollywood.”
Supe delivers high-quality bars throughout the record as he raps about never having to be a flashy guy and his ambition to continue to put on for his city and family with his lyrical talents. He goes on to inform everyone that although he and his guys are no stranger to violence, they’d rather kill the haters with something more positive — “All my ni**as down to shoot but we gonna kill em with success”, he raps.
Y.K. has definitely been a driving force in his city and marking his territory within the industry. He recently won Verizon’s #Freestyle50 Challenge, where he rose to the top above 9,000+ submissions from hip hop artists via Twitter and Instagram. This grand accomplishment lead to his grand prize of $10,000 along with a record deal with 300 Entertainment.
It’s without a doubt that the 23-year-old MC has a special gift and he will continue to move forward in the game and be an inspiration to young artists in the near future. If you can’t see that he’s the truth, you may want to purchase some binoculars or get your eyes checked.
