Much like other major cities in the United States (ex. Chicago, Atlanta, L.A.), Detroit has long been a hotbed of great Hip-Hop talent. From Eminem to Big Sean to Danny Brown, the Motor City has been as diverse as the culture can get…new(er)comers like DeJ Loaf and Tee Grizzley have also made sure to keep that torch well lit. Another artist — Supakaine — has been buzzing in the Midwest city’s underground scene since 2015’s Ghetto America; now he has a new single (and more) for 2017.
Here lies “Bridges,” a dope, laid-back cut that sees production from Icepic and Slim Village‘s Young RJ…the track follows last month’s “What A Feeling” and continues Supakaine’s trend of hard-hitting, expressive bars over nostalgic sounding (and often soulful) beats. It’s definitely a teaser for Supakaine’s forthcoming project Scholastica Park, said to be dropping sometime this Fall.
Stream “Bridges” below and check out more from Supakaine via his official website. You can also enjoy our recent interview with the Rock City lyricist here, where he speaks on the new music, the movement taking place in his hometown and more.
