This week sees South London star Stormzy liberating a new short film to accompany his debut album Gang Signs & Prayer.
The 15-minute clip (directed by Rollo Jackson) of the same name centers around Thomas, who we see in two different stages of his life. Early on, we see him beginning his path in the wrong direction, led by an older, bad influence…the older Thomas then has to make a critical decision that will have an effect on others’ lives — including his own.
Said Stormzy, who also used the film to display a few tracks from the aforementioned project, adding to the over theme of the story (source):
Gang, Signs and Prayer for me is like balancing the inner battle I face, on a day-to-day basis. It’s like, two things inside of me that I can either decide to feed and decide to nurture, or I can try and let it die.
Enjoy Gang Signs & Prayer (The Film) above; if you missed it, you can check out the (very dope) album here.
