I don’t care about Drake, I don’t care who’s vex…
First, a little backstory: if you haven’t heard of Marci Phonix, you should have — he’s one of Grime’s founding fathers alongside Dizzee Rascal, Kano and Wiley. Following a few years on hiatus, the fiery emcee is back with a thunderous new track titled “RIOT,” as well as a new visual for the tune that was premiered via GRM Daily. The rebellious nature of the track is clear: he’s not really feeling the current state of affairs:
I’ve been gone for a few years now and these rappers are still just talking about the same old thing… designer clothes, drugs and getting girls, whilst the police are still kicking our mums front door off, killing us in the streets, following us around shops… someone needs to start telling the truth!
Enjoy “RIOT” above and pick up the track here. We’re sure that there’s plenty more coming from Marci Phonix sooner than we think.
