Not that long ago, fans got some new music from Jhené Aiko, which seemed to allude to a new album titled TRIP 17. Well, fans certain have something to enjoy in the meantime; this week, the singer-songwrter liberated a short film titled Trip, which is said to be about “love, loss, and self-discovery.”
The clip sees Jhené playing the role of Penny, who is dealing with her relationship and other facets of life while mourning the death of her brother (something that she’s revealed having dealt with in real life). The stream includes a mixtape of spoken word and new music, a semi-autobiographical journey for her fans to pry open and take in.
Enjoy Trip — co-directed by Aiko and Tracy Oliver — above, or you can check it all out at her new website (where you can provide 4 bucks for support).
