Toronto’s Jayd Ink is a songstress and songwriter whose musical library consists of some beautifully-crafted classic R&B tracks, all of which will have anyone bobbin’ their heads whilst keeping their ears open. For the older heads, she brings back the sound of the 90’s; for her new fans, she adds a refreshing vibe to a contemporary sound.
Her latest offering, “Dark Skin,” is a strong song with a deep message of how to unconditionally love oneself regardless of the negative stereotypes our society tend to teach us. Her angelic voice eases the heartaches, taking your mind off the world issues and leading into R&B heaven as her vocals float over a throwback instrumental. Produced by kAui who masterfully showcased his production skills, the subtle Travis Scott “straight up” sample added a laid back smokey vibe to the song.
