Smith and Hay drop the vibey Jazz, a new LP of collaborations with several Grammy Award winning musicians. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Jerome “Bigfoot” Brailey, author of the classic “Give Up the Funk” with George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic is all over this fresh project.
The singles include “Can’t Help Falling In Love” with Iliana Eve and saxophonist Benny Reid, “Maybe (The Jazz Prequel)” with Antik and Raphael and “Andy Cohen” with Grammy Award winner Jerry Hey who played on Michael Jackson’s Thriller.
Smith and Hay recruited other cast members for Jazz such as Sylvia Massy (Prince, Johnny Cash), King Graint (Kxng Crooked, Royce da 5’9″), Matt Berman (Brandon Flowers of The Killers), DJ Hannabella (Nitty Scott, 22 Savage) and The Visionary and the Architect (“Stories for Sandy”). One of the hottest models from Toronto, Canada named Aneesa Badshaw makes an appearance on the 11-minute opus “Ospedale Della Pietà No 8”. Justina Ravi shows the listener in today’s streaming world what vinyl records sounded like.
The Swedish musical guru Mani Ajami was involved with most of the project and helped shape the original sound of Smith and Hay’s Jazz LP. When you just need some background music, Jazz is the perfect for the mood.
