Be grateful for whatever comes, because each has been sent from a guide from beyond.
Another week passes, another quasi-abstract Jay-Z music video with attached footnotes for your educational pleasure. This time, Hov delivers a clip for “MaNyfaCedGod,” a 4:44 bonus track that features James Blake.
The black-and-white visual stars actress Lupita Nyong’o, who mixes powerful interpretive dance with the above line from poet Rumi (Jay’s newborn daughter shares this name, interestingly enough). Adding on to that comes the next set of footnotes, which sees the likes of Trevor Noah, Jesse Williams, Anthony Anderson, Mack Wilds, Meek Mill, Charlamagne Tha God speaking on themselves as men in the most vulnerable way possible.
Enjoy both clips below via TIDAL. 4:44 can be streamed here.
