This weekend will see Jay-Z‘s Made In America festival returning to Philadelphia. In lieu of, the Roc Nation/TIDAL head honcho delivers a powerful poem and visual titled “Dream. On.,” which takes the viewer into a small, rough apartment that represents Hov’s childhood home in Brooklyn’s Marcy Projects. The words are a message to those of us that possess youthful ambitions and hopes of success in everything that we wish to accomplish in life:
My vision was big enough to get me out of the space
I wanted to pass how far I see
I wondered, could a kid from Mars see a kid from Marcy?
For things that are seen are temperal
The most beautiful things are invisible
Roc Nation, indivisible
American dream team
Paper planes turned into the real thing
You are whatever you say you are…
Enjoy the clip above; you can check out the full line-up for and deets on the Budweiser-backed event here.
