For his latest, Brixton’s Big Narstie delivers a new track and visual for “Smoke” — an ode to everyone’s favorite plant. A slight departure from his usual fare, “Smoke” sees Narstie looking to “smoke the pain away,” relying on the ganja as an escape from the daily stresses of life:
Life’s got complicated, used to be black and white
Used to see smiley faces, now I see mummy cry
Love is a battlefield, born on the gully side
I’m living when I’m doing wrong and I’m dying when I’m doing right
This can’t be life
I pray but I can’t see light
I can’t sleep at night
See my mind don’t stop
It keeps going tick-tick-tick…
Check out “Smoke” above, presumably filmed during the BDL captain’s most recent tour.
