Many members of A$AP Mob have seen much success as individuals, especially A$AP Rocky and A$AP Ferg. Others — like A$AP Nast and A$AP Ant — have developed their own committed fanbases as well. Now, A$AP Twelvyy looks to be the next out of the camp to break out with his debut solo album 12. The album was apparently several years in the making, and — as Twelvyy explained to XXL — a lesson in staying motivated despite the odds:
That no matter how long something takes, don’t give up. There’s no reason to give up. It might take you 10 years, it might take you 15 years, never give up. I don’t think there should ever be an age cap on music. You still got blues musicians, rock, soul, heavy metal bands still doing crazy tours. But in hip-hop, especially in America, it’s like once you’re a certain age, you’re done, ship us to Europe—which they love us over there—but it shouldn’t be like that.
Adding to the new album comes a dope visual for the single “Hop Out,” which features Ferg — who also happens to be delivering his own project, Still Striving, August 18th. The following week will see the entire Mob come together for Cozy Tapes 2 (artwork here).
Enjoy Twelvyy’s formal introduction below, which sees appearances from Joey BADA$$, Fredro Starr, Flatbush Zombies and — of course — his A$AP brethren.
