While JAY-Z‘s new album 4:44 has him at his most vulnerable and personal, the new music visual for the title track also has him at his most abstract.
In the new clip, JAY-Z brings together a collage of footage featuring a child singing Nina Simone‘s “Feeling Good,” Eartha Kitt (taken from her All By Myself documentary) and late artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, some symbolic dancers and much more. Most importantly, he centers upon his wife Beyoncé, of which the song is an apology letter to (we see them performing “Drunk In Love”); his daughter, Blue Ivy, also ended the video with a (dope!) freestyle, which is said to belong on the physical release of 4:44.
