On this day in 2002, Amerie released her Billboard chart-topping debut album All I Have. She also helped to develop and host the BET original series The Center a year later, which boasted one of the highest rating for the network. The album was certified Gold, selling over 500,000 copies. She received an award for Best New Artist at the Soul Train Awards. The album boasted two hit singles: “Why Don’t We Fall in Love,” and “Talkin’ To Me.” She helped to promote the album as an opener for Usher‘s memorable Evolution 8701 tour.
