Rick Ross delivers a bone-chilling visual for his personal request and letter to Birdman in “Idols Become Rivals.”
Rozay made the announcement through Twitter about the visuals (taken from his ninth album Rather You Than Me) earlier this week with a 5:04 pm release time, which is the New Orleans area code (also hometown of both Birdman & former Cash Money Records artist Lil’ Wayne). The visual begins with the preacher delivering a message to the congregation about deciding between faith and “cash money.”
Sacrificin’ half our life for your new music cult
You would give us self esteem and motivate our drive
But was in our pockets by the time we count to five
I pray you find the kindness in your heart for Wayne
His entire life, he gave you what there was to gain
I watched this whole debacle so I’m part to blame
Last request, can all producers please get paid?
As we all know, there has been years of animosity and litigation between Lil’ Wayne and Birdman about the release of Wayne’s highly-anticipated Carter V as well as unpaid royalties from the Cash Money CEO.
With the release of this video, Rick Ross has also made a plea to Birdman to find the light and do the right thing for his former artists such as Lil’ Wayne, DJ Khaled, and record producer Bangladesh, who made his cameo in the video.
