Consisting of Tha Rift, J. Plaza, and Daddy Dinero, the Minneapolis trio properly known as FREEWIFI are the latest signees to Rostrum Records, the former home of rap heavyweights Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller. The collective’s first single “Ego” quickly became a local success thanks to its catchy hook tailored by Tha Rift, Plaza’s melodic baritone flow, and Dinero’s confident delivery of self-praising, arrogant bars.
Now, with an established machine behind them in Rostrum Records, FREEWIFI continues to spread their infectious single with the help of an official visual directed by 13twentythree. The video for “Ego” finds FREEWIFI wading through a local neighborhood, exuding a high level of energy that anyone would be hard-pressed to match. With “Ego” leading the way, FREEWIFI are currently hard at work, creating a dynamic debut album, which is guaranteed to unite Minneapolis and rap fans worldwide. “Ego” is out now and available for purchase here.
FREEWIFI also recently rocked a performance at Soundset 2017 and you can get an exclusive behind the scenes look at how their journey went down. Check out the webisode here. In the meantime, be sure to peep the visual for their latest single at the top of the post, and remember to leave us your thoughts in the comments section.
