Hailing from the goth side: introducing Lil Peep, who is a Long Island native and has been making noise on the blogs for the past few months.
Today, Lil Peep officially releases a new emo-trap song titled “Benz Truck,” which is accompanied by a video that shows off Peep’s vision for the song’s theme — flexing on his haters with a new Mercedes vehicle in order to cover up his insecurities. The clip was directed by Mezzy, Sus Boy and Wizzy, and first shows Peep sitting passenger side of the truck, stunting on his haters, quickly switching to a scene with him in front of a historical church. The video was shot at various locations in Moscow, Venice Beach and the Cotswolds (UK) during his tour stops.
In an interview with XXL, Peep told the magazine:
“I’ve been working on my album for a few months but I never really taken myself with music this seriously. I just started and I just got other people taking me seriously so I kind of need to take it more seriously myself. This is a project where I know people are going to listen to it. Other projects I put out I didn’t know if anyone was going to listen to it. I thought it would be only for me to listen to it and show my friends. This new project, I really polished up and trying to make this as perfect as possible,”
As Lil Peep stays busy finishing up his debut project (titled Come Over When You’re Sober), take in the video for “Benz Truck” below.
