Leave it to King K-Dot to continue pushing the boundaries of art in — and outside of — Hip-Hop. Here’s his latest: courtesy of director Jonas Lindstroem (and ‘The Little Homies’) comes a breathtaking new visual from Kendrick Lamar for “ELEMENT.,” the latest to be taken from this year’s highest-selling album DAMN. In the clip, we see several scenes featuring both violence (ex. a bloodied man, Kendrick about to execute a pool stick beating) with contrasting images of nuns and children. Scenes of a burning house and men handcuffed by the police…every frame seems to be meant to strike the viewer in both thought (current events) and self-reflection. It’s certainly something meant to watch numerous times and discuss on different levels.
