JAY Z is changing his name again (sort of). If you remember, JAY rocked all capital letters for Magna Carta… Holy Grail three years ago; during the Reasonable Doubt says, he had umlauts over his name (something he reminded listeners of during a past Big Boy interview). Now, his rep states that the hyphen returns — but not before another punctuation mark appears to promote a new album.
In addition to an apparent film, 4:44 is also the title of what will be JAY-Z’s (or in this immediate case, JAY:Z’s) 13th studio album, which is set to drop on Friday, June 30th exclusively through JAY’s (now Sprint-backed) TIDAL platform. See out a preview of a new track titled “Adnis” — named after his father, Adnis Reeves — below:
In related news, JAY-Z announced 4:44 days after it was confirmed that his wife Beyoncé had delivered twin babies in Los Angeles. This is a monumental month for the Carters.
